Here are a few of the links we looked at in class when discussing how to storyboard our websites for Assignment 2. Remember that the storyboard paper has 4 main parts.
- The Audience – What is the purpose of the website? Who is the audience? What is your “Mission Statement”? What is the demographic of your audience? What are your colors/design going to be? (General color scheme). The purpose section should be the first section of the storyboard paper.
- The Content – What information, text, audio, images, maps etc is going to be found on your website? This section should be the longest and divided into subsections according to each page that is going to be on your website. A minimum of 6 sections should be in this paper. Start with the “HOME” page and write all of the text that will be on it along with any images, should the home page contain any. Make sure each section has its “Title” as well as its “Heading”. Following your Home section add the following pages in order of their popularity, or importance to your site. A checklist will help you to ensure you’ve got most of your pieces in place. This checklist will come in handy when over-viewing your final website
- The Flow Chart/ Storyboard – This is the digital flowchart of how your site is going to be organized. We demonstrated how to do one of these using Microsoft PowerPoint in class. Here is an example of a storyboard.
- Hand Drawn Mock-up – The last and final page of your storyboard must be a hand-drawn mock-up of your website. It does not need to be in color, but should contain the general layout and structure of your sites Home page. Buttons should have their proper names instead of just “Button.” This picture shows somewhat what I am looking for, but yours should be much better.
